My dog loves this litter box!

September 27, 2009 · Leave a Comment

It was very easy for me to train my dog to use this dog litter box. He took to it right away. Now we don’t have to go out for walks late at night or in the rain and there is no over-shooting onto the floor because the sides prevent that from happening. Sparky and I still go for walks, but the Rasal Litter Box is so handy. It’s easy to clean, too. I give him a little treat when he uses it, so now he likes stand by it and look at me. We are both much happier since we have discoved this box. It’s worth every penny not to have to go out when the weather is dreadful.

Great Price, Great Starter

September 24, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I know nothing about cheap electric guitars, but I bought this for my husband for his birthday for a starter and it is well worth its price. I looked at other starters and this is by far a great buy. I wish it had something other than a pitch pipe though. The guitar looks nice, not cheap like the “first act” starter guitars I have looked at. Seems to sell for alot cheaper on Amazon than other online stores, so with the free shipping, I think it was a great deal.

Cutco knives

September 13, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I have owned these cutco knives for over 15 years and no rust. However, these knives are not suitable for use in professional kitchens, as professionals, buying off wustoff. They remain very sharp and can be returned whevever you feel should be sanded. Also, if you will send the new splinter free. So, for the man who wrote that he thought that the knife was not good, you are wrong, are the best knives I have ever had, and still be reliable in 15 years. If you’re new cutco, try double-edge blade D first (it looks like serrated) You will be surprised with how it works! Hooray for cutco knives !

I love my clics glasses!

May 30, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I got a pair of Clics glasses because I was tired of putting my reading glasses on top of my head, in my pocket, or laying them down and losing them. I had 20/20 vision my whole life — until my early 40s. It’s frustrating enough to be reliant on reading glasses for so many things, and more maddening when you can’t find them! I ran over two pairs with the car because they fell off my lap or out of my pocket when I got out of the car and landed underneath without me knowing (until I rolled over them later). I was buying three-packs of glasses at Costco every couple of months – and still frequently having to search for a pair when I needed them. (There were a few times that I found two pairs on my head at once, which is embarrassing, but better than having none!) I’ve had one pair of clics for a couple of months and LOVE them. I put them around my neck in the morning and there they stay all day. They hang at about collar bone level (not too low) and are comfortable to wear like that all day. When I need them, they are right there and I just unclick the magnet at the nose and pop them on. They are comfortable on my nose and feel like a normal pair of glasses. Unlike my old glasses, my Clics glasses don’t get scratched because they never go in my pocket, purse or lap when not in use. They take a little getting used to (you might find yourself patting the top of your head for your glasses instead of reaching down for you Clics), but I am trained now and wouldn’t ever go back to regular glasses. I’ve read some complaints that have a valid basis, but are not concerns for me. +Need to use two hands to put them on take them off. True. This doesn’t phase me at all. It is actually fun to watch people’s expressions when you do this, because they think you’ve just broken your glasses. Clics are a great conversation starter! +Can’t lean back on a head rest. Partly true. If you have the ear piece fully extended and lean back on a head-rest or pillow, it will push the glasses off your nose. The solution I have found is to fully shorten the ear piece (which takes about two seconds to do). I also don’t find myself leaning my head back when I’m using my reading glasses, so this adjustment is seldom necessary. +Doesn’t work for bigger heads or neck. Probably true. My neck and head are average width so not an issue. +Interferes with hairstyles. True for some. I wear my shoulder-length hair in a pony tail a lot and so no worries with the back of the glasses lifting my hair. When my hair is down, the back of the glasses lifts my hair a bit, but this neither bothers me nor looks strange in my case. In two months, I have never lost my Clics or had to hunt for them. On top of that, they are really affordable. I simply love them!

Powerful canister vacuum great for pet hair

April 3, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I also researched this product before buying, looking for a canister vacuum that would be good for pet hair on both hardwood floors and area rugs. This one was rated best, and was less expensive than some others not so well rated.

I have one of the other (not red in color) Electrolux cannister vac’s that I thought was a good vacuum, but just wasn’t doing that well now that there are two hairy dogs in the house.

I’m very happy with this canister vacuum. On bare floors, it draws light weight pet hair into the vacuum from areas around the powerhead (instead of blowing it away.) As other reviews indicated, on rugs or carpet, it is sort of lightly self-propelled. The handle with a large loop to it works well with this feature, making it easy to steer the powerhead. The brush and crevice tool have on board storage. I’m using the powerhead on bare floors as well as rugs.

It is NOT hard to detach the power head/wand from the hose/cannister for storage. (It works like my old Electrolux, so I didn’t need need the instructions, but these are very clear, and the pictures are helpful.) Please note: there are gray release buttons on the wand. The step-on pedal is to unlock the wand from the upright position to a free angled position. It doesn’t detach anything. I’m afraid that the person who was stepping on this to knock down the vacuum used brute force to disassemble the thing, and it’s no wonder the vacuum is in the shop.

There is more plastic and less metal on this vacuum than on the older (not red) Electrolux’s. Its also a lot lighter weight, more compact, and easier to carry.

Cons: With the powerhead running, this is not a quiet vacuum. (Dogs will run and hide.) I think this may be the loudest vacuum I’ve ever had, but it works the best.

Leather bomber jacket

April 1, 2009 · Leave a Comment

This jacket was well worth every cent. I bought leather bomber jacket for my son who is a future flyboy and he just had to have one. Excellent quality and workmanship. About a weeks worth of wearing it got that “new jacket stiffness” out. Pockets are perfect and relatively warm. The removable fleece really adds a nice touch and a great addition when it starts to warm up, but not enough to go jacketless. Amazon made purchase and shipping a breeze as well. Five Stars to both the jacket manufacturer and Amazon!!!Leather bomber jacket

Jack lalanne juicer

March 29, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I’m quite suprised to see this machine didn’t get better reviews. I admit I have nothing to compare it to since I’ve never owned another juicer besides this one, but this does the job and does it well. I am single so I just make one glass of juice every morning, using some combination of the following: apples, carrots, kale, parsley, oranges, spinach, cucumbers, ginger, chard, pears, grapefruit and celery. I am able to put a whole [small] apple in and it pulvarizes it with no problems. If you’re jucing leafy greens, make sure to roll them up tightly and put enough in the shute [at least a big handful] otherwise it just kind of floats around in there and hoovers above the blade. I can’t speak for those who are making large family-sized batches of juice, and whatever problems they may run into doing that, but again – works fantastic for one person.

The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of five is that it is a pain in the behind to clean simply because there so many parts to it. You have to clean the pulp-catcher, the lid, the mesh strainer, the piece that pushes the produce down, the cylinder around the base, and the base itself [if any juice/pulp got on it]. That’s a lot of work for 1 cup of juice! They should design it for easier clean up. You also can’t make a big batch and just stick it in the fridge for a few days. (Since fresh juice isn’t pasteurized and doesn’t contain perservatives, it will go rancid quickly).Jack lalanne juicer

Omron HJ-112 Digital Premium Pedometer

March 28, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Omron HJ-112 Digital Premium Pedometer
Keep Track to Succeed! This is pedometer is Consumer Reports #1 rated digital pedometer- and I can see why. It’s extremely light weight and really easy to use with just four big buttons on the front. Here’s a few of its best features:

-it can accurately senses steps in your belt, pocket, OR purse!
-it has a large display for the visually impaired
-it has a 7 day history so you can see progress (or lack of)
-it calculates calories and distance in addition to steps

I’d recommend this little device to anyone who wants to lose weight- just begin one day, and the next day, see if you can maintain or beat your previous step record. Now how easy is that?

So what DIDN’T I like about it? Not much. Perhaps the ONLY sort of negative thing I can say is that you will need a tiny screwdriver to open the back of it to put in the battery. Other than that, if you’re looking to increase your activity a little to improve your health, look no further. Also recommend The Sixty-Second Motivator for anyone who needs more motivation to stick with an exercise program more detail
